Walkin Girl

I'm so far behind in my blogging I have more pictures of Japan and pictures of our cruise but Addy started walking on Sunday it was a great gift to her Daddy on Fathers Day. She's taken a few steps here and there but she just up and decided she'd walk accross the room Sunday. She's had the ability to walk for a while but she's a princess and has been carried everywhere so it just hasn't happened yet. I know she's a late walker but I'm not complaining she already gets into enough trouble crawling.

Miyajima and Hiroshima

Jeff and I were planning from the beginning of our Japan trip to head down to Hiroshima and my Mom so kindly volunteered to watch Addyson for us so we ventured on down just the two of us and had a blast. This was our first night away from Addyson and so it was bitter sweet but we loved having the time for the two of us.
Rather than stopping in Hiroshima that first day we decided to ride the train a little longer and then took a ferry to the island of Miyajima and it has the famous Tori gate out in the water. It was beautiful. Jeff told me he was looking on the map and there was a peak that people hike to. On this map there were old people pictured so we thought hey a nice sceneic stroll right? WRONG it was a full on hike that kicked both our behinds but it was fun.

These buns were the tastiest little things I've ever had. They were filled with beef oh my goodness!!!! Beside the tasty part I thought they were so cool looking.

The tallest peak in the picture is the one we hiked to its called Misen Peak. HARD HIKE.

This is the Hiroshima peace park. This is the memorial for all the people who were killed. Hiroshima was an interesting place to visit. I feel that the Japanese don't fully understand what went on but it was a neat place to see. The building in the picture is an original building they have to tried to keep it looking the same as it did after the bomb went off.

Addyson and my Mom had fun while we were gone. Addy loved when my Mom played the piano.

Disneyland Tokyo

Addyson had her first trip to Disneyland in Tokyo (we know she will never remember but she will have bragging rights for the rest of her life). It was pretty much the same as Disneyland in California but longer lines and everyone spoke Japanese.

Jeff thought Addyson would love this jungle safari ride and so did I because she really loves animals. Boy were we wrong it started out bad and then got worse. The japanese guy who was narating first of all was really loud and crazy so Addy was not loving him and then the animals look really real and the part where the hippo comes to attack the boat and they shoot it with a gun just sent her over the edge. Not a good idea.

SHIBUYA

After the sumo match we got back on the train and headed toward downtown Tokyo called Shibuya. Jeff said it reminded him alot of time square in New York but with less cars. It was crazy but so much fun and we felt pretty safe there.

Chelsea has a friend who lives right by the temple and we were lucky enough to stay with them in their penthouse apartment. They had the most amazing view of all of Tokyo and their apartment was really nice.

S U M O

We were lucky enough to have gone to Japan during a sumo tournament. Chelsea used her Japanese skills while we ventured up to Tokyo where the tournament was taking place it was so fun to have her with us. The sumo match was one of the funnest sporting events we've ever gone to. The guys were HUGE and the crowd was going crazy. So we joined right in and acted crazy ourselves. Jeff really got into the yelling and cheering it was a blast.

Fish Market

The fish market was so amazing to see. As you walk through they had buckets and tanks that a lot of the fish were being kept to keep them alive. Talk about a fresh catch. At one guys stand there was a huge octopus and it was alive. There were two in a bucket together I leaned down to have my dad take my picture next to it and the next thing I know the guy told my dad to tell me to pick it up. I was very hesitant and the guy could tell so he told my dad "tell her to face her fear" so I decided to pick it up. Jeff was shocked I picked it up so quickly, but hey I'm in Japan live it up right.

Jammie Time

The girls were trying on our pajamas we had just got that day and we took a picture. Then all the sudden in busts my Dad he snuck away to put his jammies on cause he wanted to be part of the party. Jeff had some jammies and so does Addy but they were in bed.
